Full Tour Description 🚜

Climb aboard for a two-hour orchard hay ride through the heart of Linden farmland, guided by 4th generation farmer James Chinchiolo, who shares stories from four generations of working the land. As the ride winds through the orchards, guests gain an insider’s look at how farming happens today and what makes these practices unique.

One highlight of the tour is a stop at the mobile chicken tractor, where hens forage under the trees and lay fresh Blooms Orchard Laid Eggs. Located in one of the Chinchiolo family’s older orchards, this stop gives visitors time to see the chickens up close and learn how they contribute to a regenerative farming approach.

The route also passes neighboring farms and orchards, providing opportunities to learn about:

  • New cherry plantings and what it takes to establish a modern orchard

  • Row crop farming, including alfalfa, beans, and high-production pumpkin farming

  • Transitional rent farming, where land shifts between crops and tenants

  • Legacy walnut orchards, planted with older, heritage varieties that have stood the test of time

This isn’t just a ride—it’s a behind-the-scenes look at the rhythms, challenges, and beauty of farming in Linden. Whether visitors are curious about agriculture, love the outdoors, or simply want to relax on a hay ride, this tour connects them to the land in a way few experiences can.

Your Tour Guide 🧑‍🌾

Meet your guide, James Chinchiolo, a fourth-generation farmer rooted in the Linden community. James grew up working these very orchards and continues his family’s tradition of farming walnuts, cherries, pumpkins, and more while introducing new ideas that blend modern practices with heritage values. Passionate about sharing the stories behind the land, James invites you to see farming through his eyes—where every orchard row carries history, every crop has a season, and every day offers something to learn.
